Based on assessment of prevailing climate conditions and key climate drivers, the rainfall and temperature outlook for the 2026/2027 season is summarized as follows:

During October to December (OND), normal to below-normal rainfall is expected over most parts of southern and central Malawi, while normal to above-normal rainfall is likely over most parts of northern Malawi.

January to March (JFM) is expected to have below-normal rainfall over southern and central Malawi, while normal to above-normal rainfall is expected over most parts of northern Malawi.
