A prolonged period of hot and uncomfortable weather is expected over most areas for the next 5 days from Thursday 19TH to Monday 23RD December 2024. This heating coupled with dryness anticipated over many places will result into moisture stresses in some areas. Daytime maximum temperatures are forecasted to rise significantly, with the following projections: o Shire Valley: Temperatures to reach 43°C; +6°C, more than average. o Lakeshore areas: Temperature to reach 36°C; +5°C more than average. o Southern Highlands: Temperatures to reach 34°C; +4°C more than average. o Central areas: Temperature to exceed 33°C; +5°C more than average. o Northern areas: Temperatures to reach 32°C; +4°C more than average.

● Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty. ● Dress appropriately: Wear light, loose-fitting clothing, and use sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful sunlight. ● Avoid intensive activities: Reduce physical activities, especially during the hottest part of the day (11am to 3pm).
