The Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services (DCCMS), through the Ministry of Natural Resources and Climate Change, is today expected to release the official 2025/2026 Seasonal Rainfall Forecast in Liwonde, Machinga.

The forecast will provide critical information about the upcoming rainy season, including the expected onset of planting rains, the length of the season, and the possibility of dry spells.

Seasonal rainfall forecasts are an essential planning tool not only for farmers but also for key sectors such as disaster risk management, health, water resources, and energy. They guide decision-making, improve preparedness, and strengthen resilience against climate-related risks.
