During the period from Monday 26th February to Friday 1st March 2024 expect windy and cloudy conditions coupled with cooler temperatures, fog patches and scattered thunderstorms with locally heavy rain due to the influence of the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). Later into the weekend less rains are likely mainly over Southern areas.

Threat of Flash Floods will be very high mainly over lakeshore areas like Karonga, Salima and low lying and flood prone areas. Mwera winds with speed of around 40km/h which are likely to cause high water waves of 1.5 metres are also expected to blow over Lake Malawi and other lake water bodies from the night on 26 February 2024 and will gradually weaken by Friday 1ST March, 2024.
