From tomorrow on Monday 4th March to Sunday 10th March 2024 expect cloudy conditions coupled with scattered thunderstorms with locally heavy rain. The rains are expected to be locally heavy mainly over highlands, northern and lakeshore areas. This will be due to the influence of the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). Threat of Flash Flood will be very high mainly over lakeshore, low lying and flood prone areas.

Meanwhile, the department is also monitoring low pressure developments in the Mozambique Channel that are likely to develop into a Cyclone later this week. Currently, there is no clear path that the impending Cyclone will take if it develops. As such, DCCMS will keep monitoring the situation and update the Malawi nation accordingly.
